Finally! After months of waiting for the chance to see Tulad ng Dati, I was able to watch it last night. ABC 5 airs indie films every Saturday and last night, it featured The Dawn's Tulad ng Dati. I like to thank Ja for texting me last night about it. I wanted to sleep early but since I did not see the film last April/May (when it was shown in Mega Mall), I stayed late just to watch it.
I love the movie.. Siguro medyo bias yung statement ko kasi favorite ko yung band pero pag napanood mo magugustuhan mo talaga. Hehe.. The story basically depicts the events when Jett Pangan had an amnesia. When he wakes up in the hospital, he totally forgets everything except his life in and prior to 1988. Here are my favorite parts of the film:
Jett Pangan argues with his bandmates: What I like about this scene is when Francis Brew dropped the line, "Hindi ako si Teddy". Haha, wala lang.. serious mode si Sir Francis Brew kahit na ang papel nya sa buong movie ay magpa-cute at magpatawa. Tapos sinipa nya yung upuan ni Jett Pangan. Hehe.. (ang babaw ko no?)
Teddy Diaz speaks with Jett: Eto na. I have to praise Ping Medina for playing Teddy Diaz. Ping's make-up was also really good na nakuha nya talaga yung ibang features ni Mr. Diaz. In this part of the film, Teddy talks to Jett para ipa-realize sa kanya yung mga faults nya at yung importance ng band at kung ano ang nagawa ng band for him. Dito rin nya sinabi na Jet has to move on by saying something like" Ang mga bagay na hindi na makita, mapalitan, at makalimutan ay dapat tanggapin (just like fame, which the band had most especially during the '80s).

Jett's daughter plays Dreams: Ang galing nung girl tumugtog tsaka kumanta..
Jett and Agot duet: I forgot the title of the song but my sister sings it. Agot and Jett sang it so beautifully. Jett's voice is not only for rock songs, galing. :D
The Dawn vs. Ratbunitata: The film was about to end when The Dawn faces the band Ratbunitata. I almost screamed when I saw Karl Roy! He plays the new vocalist of Ratbunitata and I should that the song Saling Pusa matches his voice. Kahit na mukhang kakatira lang nya nung kumakanta xam ang galing nya pa rin. Hehe. At tsaka may isa pa kong favorite sa part no to. I love the scene when Francis Brew was playing his guitar against Ratbunitata's lead guitarist. Ang galing nya sobra!!! Ratbunitata's lead guitarist gave up while playing along with Francis. After the guy stopped laying, Francis started playing Isang Bangka Tayo. :D
