but I feel like watching this starting January 19, Monday. May plugging talaga?! Haha.
Reports say that four students from QC Science High School were given a 10-day suspension because they wrote their criticisms against the school admin on their blogs. I don't know exactly what they wrote and how below-the-belt it was but I can't blame those kids who only practiced their freedom of speech.
My father is also a school adminstrator and he has heard a lot of negative things about QCSHS Principal Zenaida Panti Sadsad (what a name!) such as allegedly asking for a commission from a construction being done in the school.
According to Wikipedia:
Due to the many changes in school rules and policy that Sadsad has implemented (including the removal of all extracurricular activities), a large number of outcries has been heard from the students, expressed in blogs, text messages, and, most recently, vandalism of school property. Even former teachers are said to move to other schools voluntarily because of these changes and they were all replaced by new teachers. Because of these protests, Sadsad personally talked to the third and fourth year students, and in the course of her speeches, promised to revert most of the changes that she had had carried out. It is under her administration that the alumni was banned from entering school grounds for the second time in QueSci history.
That's just crazy. I'm glad I graduated almost seven years ago. All I can say is that kids in this school are smart. They will not write negative stuff about someone if s/he didn't wrong them. If those kids are really guilty, then maybe something or someone provoked them to do that.

Kasi nanonood ako kanina ng Unang Hirit tapos binabanggit nila JC Tuiseco, JC Tuiseco. Ako naman, "Sino ba yang JC Tuiseco?! At bakit siya sikat? At bakit parang pamilyar ang name niya?" Tapos bago ako pumasok sa trabaho, na-realize ko, "Ah! Si John Carlo Tuiseco! Yung student athlete!"

I just came from a quick lunch with a friend and one of the things that we discussed was the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Baler starring Anne Curtis, Jericho Rosales, and Phillip Salvador. Here's how the conversation went:
Friend: So how was Baler?
May: It was okay pero I think my expectations were quite high.
F: Paanong okay? Eh yung cinematogrpahy? It won Best Cinematography, right?
M: I think it deserves the cinematography award but it kinda lacks depth. Parang walang life-defining moment. Kung sa love story ka magfo-focus, nothing new. I've seen that story before. Hindi nga ako na-touch kahit namatay si Echo. Kung sa history naman, parang hindi naitawid yung gustong ipahiwatig nung pelikula.
F: Talaga? I don't know much about Philippine history so I'm curious to see the film. Teka, nagbigay ba ng explanation bakit si Anne yung Filipina eh ang puti-puti niya?
M: You'll learn history from the movie because the love Celso-Feliza thing was only injected in the story. It didn't really affect me. Parang ginaya lang yung Jack-Rose love affair sa Titanic. About kay Anne, medyo logical naman na maputi siya kasi yung parents niya dun di rin naman moreno at morena. Si Phillip Salvador at Rio Locsin.
F: So pang best actress ba talaga yung acting niya?
M: Hindi no! I think nanalo lang yun kasi wala nang ibang pwedeng maging Best Actress. Sino ba ipangtatapat mo sa kanya? Si Ai Ai? Eh ang natural naman ni Ai Ai magpatawa, hindi na acting yun.
F: So hindi siya magaling?
M: Since nakakapanood ako ng Diyosa sa gabi, masasabi kong wala siyang nagawang acting sa Diyosa na hindi niya nagawa sa Baler.
F: Naging ibon siya?!
M: Hay naku sana nga naging ibon na lang siya sa pelikula para yun ang naging winning moment niya!

The first quarter of 2008 was rough for me.
I didn't have a job.
My boyfriend broke up with me.
Valentine's day sucked.
But as the year went by, life has slowly become bearable. Haha. I've found a nice job, met new friends, been to different places, been more blessed, etc.
Although I'm not fond of making New Year's resolutions, I promise myself to always try to make this year a blast. :)
